Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pega Developer with 6-8+ years of overall Pega experience, including at least 2 years working specifically with Pega Customer Service. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Pega Cloud environments (not just On-Prem solutions), experience with the latest Pega versions (preferably v24.2), and a strong background in Pega Constellation development and standardized data models. Experience working in an onsite-offshore model for US customers—especially in the healthcare domain—is highly preferred. The role requires advanced integration skills (SOAP/REST APIs, databases, legacy systems) and strict adherence to Pega guardrails and best practices throughout all development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Pega applications, with a focus on Customer Service solutions.
- Lead and contribute to projects hosted on Pega Cloud, ensuring scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.
- Utilize Pega Constellation framework to create modern, reusable components and standardized data models.
- Integrate Pega applications with external systems, including SOAP/REST APIs, databases, and legacy platforms.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure all development adheres to Pega guardrails, best practices, and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and documentation of solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers, especially in distributed (onsite-offshore) teams.
- Optimize Pega applications for performance, maintainability, and security.
- Support deployment activities, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay current with the latest Pega platform features and updates.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6-8+ years of hands-on experience in Pega application development, including at least 2 years with Pega Customer Service.
- Proven expertise in Pega Cloud deployments (not just On-Premise), with understanding of SaaS best practices.
- Experience with Pega v24.2 or other recent versions.
- Strong knowledge of Pega Constellation development, including standardized data models and reusable components.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate Pega with SOAP/REST APIs, relational databases, and legacy systems.
- Experience working in an onsite-offshore model for US-based clients; healthcare domain experience is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of Pega guardrails, best practices, and secure development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or mentoring teams in distributed environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing tools within Pega.
- Exposure to Pega’s GenAI capabilities and modern front-end integrations (e.g., React, Angular).
- Prior work in the healthcare sector, with knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
